TidalRN is a mobile application operated by Tidal Shift Technologies, Inc. ("Tidal Shift," "we," "us," or "our"), a Wyoming corporation. TidalRN helps travel nurses discover assignments, manage credentials, coordinate housing and logistics, and connect with a professional community. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the TidalRN mobile app and related services (together, the "Services"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information. Name, email address, phone number, password, and profile details such as a photo or display name.
- Professional and credentialing information. Nursing license numbers and states of licensure, certifications, specialties, education, work history, and related documents you upload or connect so that hospitals and staffing partners can verify your qualifications.
- Job and lifestyle preferences. Assignment preferences such as desired locations, shift types, pay expectations, housing needs, and lifestyle interests you share to improve job discovery.
- Application and negotiation activity. Applications you submit, offers you receive, negotiation responses, extension requests, and related communications with hospitals or staffing partners through the app.
- Timesheet and assignment records. Responses you submit to timesheet inquiries, including confirmations or disputes and any notes you attach.
- Community content. Posts, comments, images, likes, and other content you share in community areas of the app.
- Messages. Content of messages you send and receive through the in-app inbox and chat features.
- Support communications. Information you provide when you contact us for help or feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information. Device type, operating system and version, app version, unique device identifiers, push notification tokens, language, and time zone.
- Usage information. Features you use, screens you view, searches you run, and interactions with jobs, posts, and messages.
- Approximate location. Location information derived from your device settings or information you provide, used for features described in Section 5.
- Log and diagnostic data. IP address, crash reports, and performance data that help us keep the Services reliable.
Information from other sources
- License verification sources. We may confirm licensure status using state boards of nursing and other authorized verification systems.
- Public data sources. We use publicly available datasets, such as federal per diem rates and publicly reported crime statistics, to power features like stipend estimates and area safety scores. These datasets describe places, not you.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and profile;
- Match you with assignments and surface jobs, housing, stipend, and area information relevant to your preferences;
- Facilitate applications, offers, negotiations, credentialing, scheduling, and timesheet workflows between you and hospitals or staffing partners;
- Operate community features, including displaying your posts and comments to other users;
- Deliver messages, alerts, reminders, and shift alarms you set;
- Verify professional credentials and maintain the integrity of the platform;
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- Monitor, analyze, and improve the Services, including developing new features;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms and community guidelines;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own targeted advertising.
3. How We Share Your Information
- Hospitals and staffing partners. When you apply to an assignment, respond to an offer, negotiate, or participate in credentialing, scheduling, or timesheet workflows, we share relevant profile, credential, and activity information with the facility or partner involved so they can evaluate and work with you.
- Other users. Your community posts, comments, and public profile details are visible to other users of the Services. Please post thoughtfully.
- Service providers. We use trusted vendors to host our infrastructure and databases, deliver push notifications, distribute the app, process crash and analytics data, and provide similar services. These providers may process your information only to perform services for us.
- Corporate transactions. If Tidal Shift is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor policy with materially similar protections.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe it is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Tidal Shift.
- With your direction or consent. We share information with other parties when you ask us to or otherwise consent.
4. Community Content and Messaging
Content you post in community areas of TidalRN is visible to other users and may remain visible after you delete your account, in the form of copies made by other users, quoted replies, or cached versions. Do not post information you would not want other nurses or facilities to see, and never post patient information of any kind.
Messages sent through the in-app inbox are stored on our systems so we can deliver them, maintain conversation history, and support features such as negotiation timelines and timesheet inquiries. We may review message content where necessary to investigate reported abuse, enforce our terms, or comply with law.
5. Location Information
TidalRN uses location information to show you assignments, housing options, per diem stipend estimates, and area safety information relevant to where you are or where you want to work. You can control the app's access to your device location through your device settings. If you disable location access, location-dependent features will rely on locations you enter manually and may be less accurate.
6. Push Notifications and Alarms
With your permission, we send push notifications for things like new job matches, messages, offer and negotiation deadlines, and shift alarms you configure. You can manage or disable notifications in your device settings or within the app. Disabling notifications may cause you to miss time-sensitive alerts such as offer expirations or shift alarms.
7. A Note on Health Information
TidalRN is a career and workforce platform for nursing professionals. It is not designed to collect, store, or transmit patient health information, and you must not upload or share patient information through the Services. Tidal Shift is not a healthcare provider and does not act as a HIPAA covered entity in operating the consumer app. Certain credentialing documents you provide, such as immunization records required by facilities, are treated as sensitive information and handled with heightened care.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed for the purposes described in this Policy. We may retain certain information after account closure where required for legal, regulatory, audit, dispute resolution, or security purposes, or where credentialing and assignment records must be preserved for the facilities and partners you worked with. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secured cloud infrastructure. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
- Access and correction. You can view and update most profile information directly in the app. You may also contact us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or to correct inaccuracies.
- Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to the retention needs described in Section 8.
- Notifications and location. You can manage push notifications and location access at any time through your device or app settings.
- Marketing communications. You can opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in any such email. We will still send transactional and account-related messages.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, such as the right to know, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 14. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law. If we deny your request, you may have the right to appeal by replying to our decision.
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are intended for licensed nursing professionals and other users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third Party Services and Links
The Services may link to or interoperate with third party services, such as app stores, mapping providers, housing or transportation services, and educational content providers. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. This Policy applies only to information collected by Tidal Shift through the Services.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app, by email, or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when this Policy was most recently revised. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
